L-Tyrosine dosage: what the research used, honestly
Short answer. Studies on tyrosine under acute stress used single doses far larger than any daily supplement contains. 30BASE uses 1000 mg as a daily supportive amount, not an acute stress dose, and we say so rather than implying otherwise.
L-Tyrosine is an amino acid the body uses to make dopamine and norepinephrine. It is the compound in this stack with the most interesting research and the most commonly overstated labelling.
The honest exception
The striking tyrosine findings come from acute stress research: cold exposure, sleep deprivation, sustained high-demand tasks. Those studies typically used single doses in the range of 100 to 150 mg per kilogram of body weight, which for an adult is several grams at once. Mahoney and colleagues (Physiology and Behavior, 2007) and Jongkees and colleagues (2015) are the usual references.
No daily supplement contains that. Several grams of tyrosine would not fit in a sachet alongside six other compounds, and it is not designed as an acute intervention anyway.
